Blink TV & SBS Australia are thrilled to announce that Australia will be competing in the Grand Final of the 60th Eurovision Song Contest to be held in Vienna, Austria in May this year.
Blink TV Australia will produce Eurovision coverage for SBS TV, and will work with artists and songwriters to present THE Australian act.
“This is a brilliant opportunity to flaunt Australian song writing and vocal talent. Australians love to compete, and now we are in the biggest song competition in the world, courtesy of SBS’s long term commitment to Eurovision. It’s something both TV viewers and music artists will cheer for,” said Executive Producer/Director Paul Clarke, who has been producing Eurovision with hosts Julia Zemiro and Sam Pang for SBS since 2009.
Clarke and Blink TV Head Of Production Stephanie Werrett will be Co-Heads of the Australian Delegation.
Werrett said, “There will be 40 countries including Australia competing this year- we’re hoping for some beginners luck and to make the top 10!”
The Australian artist will perform to an international television audience of over 180 million
