Blink TV’s coverage of the Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras 2020 a Finalist in the MIPCOM Diversity TV Excellence Awards 2020

Blink TV’s live coverage of the Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras in March 2020 was selected as a finalist in the Representation of LGBTQ+ – Non-Scripted category at the fourth edition of the MIPCOM Diversify TV Excellence Awards.

The Awards streamed live in October from Paris, aim to bring attention to deserving programmes of diverse and inclusive background, spotlighting authentic new and established voices and recognising positive programming across the year.

The Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras 2020 was broadcast live for the first time on SBS TV, with international audiences joining via streaming platforms. Hosts Joel Creasey, Narelda Jacobs, Zoë Coombs Marr and Courtney Act interviewed special guests and celebrated the incredible diversity, strength and unity of the LGBTQIA+ community.

Although Blink TV was not the winner in the category, we really appreciate the coverage being recognized internationally in these Awards, and thank the Mardi Gras organisers, the City of Sydney, the hard working crew, and SBS TV who took on the challenge to broadcast live to the world!
